![]() Note: If you don’t see Text Message Forwarding, make sure you’re signed in to iMessage using the same Apple ID on both your iPhone and your Mac. You definitely don't need to set up messages on both, but doing so will make sure you never miss out on anything. To make this work, your Mac and iPhone must be connected to the same network and signed in with the same iCloud and FaceTime account. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages. Here's what to do:Įnter Apple ID email address and password (make sure it's the same one you just used on your iPhone)Ĭlick Messages in the Menu bar in the top lefthand corner of your MacĬhoose the phone number and email addresses you want to use for the account (once again, make sure they're the same ones you selected on your iPhone)Ĭhoose which phone number or email address you want people to see when you start a new conversationĪnd there you have it! Drag the conversation to the Messages app on your Mac to link it. On your Mac, the conversation will appear in the AirDrop window. The instructions are very similar to the ones you just followed, so it should be really easy. On your iPhone, tap Accept to confirm the transfer.
